  1. I am somewhat new to DIY and have tried out many of the calculators that are available. While all are very functional, I have observed shortcomings with each and primarily the ability to save a library of my flavors and to associate notes with the individual flavors and recipes. So, I decided to build my own. I accept received positive feedback from those who have tried it out and I wanted to make information technology available to others to use and provide feedback. So here information technology is.

    In the current version:

    • Go along a library of all of your flavors.
    • Associate notes with each flavor.
    • Utilize the drops/ml and get a percentage for recipe usage.
    • Apply a pre-mix every bit a flavor and include its nicotine content in the target calculations.
    • Specify the default percentage of the flavor to use when adding to a recipe.
    • Create a recipe with select flavors from your library of flavors.
    • Add a pre-mix to your recipe and belongings calculate nicotine, PG and VG levels.
    • Associate notes with each recipe or flavor.
    • Easy access to your existing recipes through a drop downwardly list.
    • Import your existing recipes from eJuice Me Upwards. Note; you may observe warning messages related to PG or VG levels not being met from imported recipes. eJuice Me Up always reflected VG + PG = 100%, fifty-fifty when ingredients such as h2o was being added.
    • Add more vii flavors to your recipe (no limits).
    • Calculate the total percentage of flavors (excluding Alc, H2o) in your recipe as you go.

Beneath are some screenshots. Also provided is a link to download the application. Be sure to view the "Help -> View ReadMe" for some instructions to get you started. Feedback is welcome. E-mail me at the accost in the "Assist -> About" window.

'Sounds like a major winner! However, I'm having difficulties installing & opening/running :(

Download was successful. First install told me I needed Microsoft .Cyberspace Framework full package (which I'd recently installed for something else) - but I downloaded and installed it again anyway.

After that I ran the .exe again, and it appeared to exist successful - the final screen gave me the 'successful' bulletin and an option to start the programme...which I chose. But zippo happened.

Then: Commencement --> Programs --> Rod Brown --> EJuiceSetup -->EJuiceCalculator ...choosing the latter. and tried to open it. I get this messagage: (zip) is not a valid win32 application

Ran EJuiceSetup once again, choosing "Repair" and tried once again - same message: (null) is not a valid win32 application

I'thou running WindowsXP SP3, and to my noesis, I have no system problems, viruses/malware, etc.

    Any ideas?

Edit: Btw, I'm using Function 2003 -or- Office Libre I just went to Programme Files and tried to open up information technology using both the .exe and the .exe.config ...with both programs. XCL won't open at all. Libre opens it, just gives me 'read merely' and ii different .xml options. No matter which I try, it's not looking like annihilation but a blank spreadsheet with a few random lines of code.

So just downloaded the new computer last night. Unfortunately I am new to this so may not be the greatest assistance on feedback.

And so far I really like the calculator, love being able to add flavors, notes, costs.

Only question I have is I take marked my flavors as "Other" and so there is no vg/pg level. On the bottles and website the say "contain flavorings, pg, and ethyl booze"

Is this the best option to use? Or should I marking the ingredients as a 100 percent pg then that the calculations come out correct? Because marking the ingredient every bit "Other" then leaves me with a message of "Unable to add plenty VG for desired level"

EDIT: pitiful this was a quick reply my ain office. I marked the ingredient every bit season, then equally 100 per centum pg. The calculations and so came out the same as ejuicemeup

So I just added my flavors to the list (just ordered a whole bunch more to play with concluding nighttime) and made a 2d concoction (so far I have come up with Nutty Jack and Earls Fruitea)

I really dear this calculator. Too getting to save my flavors, another big plus is getting to relieve notes direct to the recipe. I am now able to add notes from starting time try, and then as they steep.

Also, information technology showing the toll of the juice made is a huge motivator to keep plugging away at DIY. If I make a five ml sample so far it is 29 cents, and a xxx ml is $1.73. This would be even less if I purchase my nicotine at a higher dose than 48 for a base.

Neat calculator HotRod, thanks for taking the fourth dimension.

Nice!!! looks similar it may take time to go the flavor database ready upward, just expect'n good!! I love the existent time flavor % total... Thanks for your work!
  9. The purpose of the "Other" was to provide a way to add together h2o and other ingredients that practise not have flavor. I wanted to identify these separately so that when I calculate the pct of season these values are not included in the total flavor percent.
  10. we2rcool,
Thank you for your PM on the issue that you lot were having. I posted a new version of the calculator removing the requirement for the .Net 4.v Framework and making it .NET four.0 instead. This should permit it to run on your Windows XP system. Delight let me know if that resolves your effect, I don't have a way to test on Windows XP.
Annotation to any others that may accept already installed the calculator. You will need to get to the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, before installing the update I just posted. Because of the nature of the change I couldn't make information technology an "upgrade" install. Your saved juice files will still work but yous will accept to reopen them later on the install.
  11. I don't recollect I answered your question in my previous reply:
At that place are Ingredient Entries for PG and VG automatically created in your ingredients list. The just data you demand to provide for them is the drops/ml. It is assumed that they are 100% PG and 100% VG.

For each flavor you can specify a PG/VG/Nicotine level chances are the Nicotine level is always 0 and if your flavour is PG based, marking it as 100% PG (or whatever the combination of PG/VG is).

Other was intended for adding water, vinegar, or any other non-flavor blazon of ingredient. I assumed that it "other" would always accept 0 pg, vg and nicotine. An ingredient marked as other will never be calculated into the full flavor percentage calculation. Most of the time yous probably want to marker the ingredient as "Flavour".

Thank you HotRod. I was able to get my percentages to match up with the ejuicemeup one time I realized I needed to ready my flavors as 100% pg.

I really love your calculator. Being able to encounter the price of juice fabricated correct there as been a major motivator. Besides, the ingredient list is great. Afterward a few minutes to input them, now I can just look at the listing and descriptions and not dig through all the flavors.

Thanks once again, and great calculator.

  13. LongDraw,
In that location is one thing to exist aware of when comparing the PG/VG percentages to the ejuicemeup calculator. There is a suttle difference in how the PG/VG percentages are calculated. My calculator volition calculate the percentages based on total book in the recipe. Many other calculators calculate the percentage of PG/VG based on the full volume of PG + VG and ignore the other non PG/VG ingredients. For example:
Mix up something with 50% water, 25% PG and 25% VG. What should the PG/VG percentages be? My calculator will tell you that you have 25% PG and 25% VG. Many others volition tell y'all that PG is 50% and VG is 50%.

Rod, I just want to say thanks for the dandy work! I installed on my Win7 desktop, the desk where I mix, and you calculator is really great. I took a few minutes to add together some flavors for my favorite recipes and constitute out information technology's costing me nether a nickel a milliliter. Great task!
  15. Your Calculator is using this I believe

    Presume 20 drops per ML
Recipe calls for ane drop per 5 ML

    (ane / xx) / five = .01 or 1%

Simply it does not accept into account the fact you are calculation these Drops to the mixture and that would modify the percent

    Clone Tribeca calls for
    ten% Double RY4
1 drib per 5ML Acetyl Pyrazine

    Lets make 30ml 0mg 50/fifty

    15ml VG
    12ml PG
    3ml Double RY4

Now it calls for 6 drops Acetyl Pyrazine for the 30ML, just at present the recipe is thirty.3ml, that added 0.3 messes with the percentages.

The true percentages for Clone Tribeca is

    0.9900990099009901 Acetyl Pyrazine
(ane drib) / (per ML + (one drop)) should be the formula for 1 drop per 5ml. Information technology breaks down to (i/xx) / (5 + (1/twenty))

    9.900990099009901 Double RY4
Double RY4 would be recalculated like this
    (per ML/% ) / (Per ML + 1 drop) which breaks down to (five/ten) / (five + (one/20))

The differences are non much and unless y'all are making a LARGE batch it might brand no difference at all

If the Government tin can consider 100 million dollars a rounding fault, 9.900990099009909 per cent doesn't seem like a whole lot to me, but I usually mix "by heart" anyway.
